United Nations agencies have supported the university for many years. It is in line with this that UNESCO, after the creation of the UNESCO Chair in Education Sciences in 1997, contributed in 2012 to the establishment of a second offer of doctoral training: UNESCO Chair in Engineering Sciences at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique (NPHS).
UNFPA also contributed to the opening of a Master’s of "Population and Development" and the creation of a laboratory in 2011-2012 at the Faculty of Economics.
In addition, the University Marien Ngouabi maintains an active collaboration with the Association of African Universities (AAU), the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAM), and the Agency of Francophone Universities (AUF), among others.
Since 2010, the University Marien Ngouabi has participated, as a partner or associate member, in various exchange projects of the Erasmus of the European Union (Mundus ACP ACPI ACPII, ANGLE, DREAM, KITE).
